A message from Nicole Lerch, Director of Summer Strings:
Greetings to all 2026 Summer Strings participants! Violinists, violists, cellists and double bass players are all welcome!!!
Nicole, here! We have a great program planned for you this summer. And the best thing is that we will not only be rehearsing these pieces right now, but also playing them during the 2026/2027 season.
First of all, we will be working on Tchaikovsky's beautiful Symphony No. 5, along with Bruckner's 9th Symphony, which has only three movements and ends with an Adagio. For our string selection, we are planning to play the Capriol Suite by Peter Warlock.
I am excited about learning these three pieces, each one with a different and distinct style. The parts will be available at the PPO website on May 19.
Come join us on Monday nights from 7-9 p.m. during June and July. Looking forward to seeing all of you soon.
